Who doesn’t like customization? For me, I love customization like the way “Subway” provides. In fact, we all love customization. What if I tell you…you can prepare your own peanut butter at home and can customize it as per your need. Many of us want our butter to be a little sweeter and many like it to be un-salted or some they prefer a combo of both.
2 cups (200 grams) unsalted shelled peanuts1/4 to 3/4 teaspoon Low Sodium Salt or Himalayan Pink Salt (Use either one)1 to 2 teaspoons Honey/Brown Sugar/Jaggery (Use either one)1 to 3 teaspoons Olive oil/ Peanut /Vegetable oil (Use either one)DIRECTIONS:
Step 1: Dump peanuts in the food processor fitted with an S-blade and process on high until creamy. For me, it took about 4 minutes. In some processor, it may take about 8. First, there’ll be ground peanuts, then it’ll start to clump together, and then the clump will break down.
Step 2: Add the salt, oil, sweetener, and any other extras: Sprinkle the salt, oil, sweetener, and any other extras over the top of the peanut butter.
Step 3: Then process it a little more until you’re sure it’s nice and creamy.Store in the fridge for up to three months.NOTES:
Using Toasted Nuts: You can also use nuts that come pre-roasted from the store. I still like to give even pre-toasted nuts a quick trip through the oven to warm them up and help the oils loosen up.
Other Kinds of Nuts: You can absolutely substitute any nut you like in this recipe. The method is exactly the same for making almond butter, pistachio butter, or any other kind of nut butter
