Q: Should we drink water during a workout session?
Answer: I get many questions like this and some of them they fear that if I will drink water during a workout session. I will lose the effect of the warm-ups which I did. My body will cool down and my workout won’t be effective and will see no results.
Friends what if I tell you all these are just a myth and BS nothing else. Water is as important as your food and oxygen. Staying hydrating is crucial for your best performance. The amount of water you lose through perspiration (sweating, drooling, etc.) has to be replenished at some point. You need to understand how water can impact your performance during the workout and then you will be able to decide on our own if you should drink water during the workout session or not.
When you’re working out, you’re more likely to be losing water, both through your breath and through sweat. If you start out dehydrated, you won’t get a good workout. You’ll get dizzy, your muscles won’t work, and you’ll get cramps sooner. That’s because water helps your body to exercise efficiently. It lubricates your entire body. Water is a vital part of the many chemical reactions in the body. “If these reactions will slow down, so will the tissue heal, muscle recovery and the body will not be functioning at 100% efficiency.
The moment you start feeling thirsty you are already dehydrated by 2% and then plasma volume and blood pressure will decrease, which forces your heart and respiration rates to increase As a result, your body temperature will go up, and then you will start sweating a lot. Once you start sweating you start to lose Powerful electrolytes and nutrients like sodium and potassium and soon you will feel Headaches, nausea, muscle cramps, achy joints, and general fatigue as a result of dehydration.

Friend’s water is really important and especially when you are looking for the best results you need to make sure you are staying hydrated and best way to check this status is by checking the color of your urine. If the color of the urine is transparent similar to water then it’s a good sign and means that you are well hydrated on the other hand if the urine color is yellow or deep yellow. Then it’s your body signaling the need for water. Try to immediately grab a cup of water. Well staying hydrated is no rocket science especially if you are maintaining a good clean diet and 3-4 liters of daily water intake then you are meeting your daily requirement. Kindly adjust your water intake if in case you are sweating a lot during your workout session.
So to answer your question, YES! you should drink water during the workout.
